In this video I show how to make a simple distillation kit from a water bottle that can be used to make fresh water from ocean water. Any steel container could work for this project. I almost used a small stainless steel food container, but decided a water bottle was a more practical object to carry.

The weathers warming up! In this video I put together a DIY Ice Cream Cold Plate and make some seriously good ice cream. Give it a try!
Its been brought to my attention that dry ice is not legal in some countries. You can make ice cream in the same way on a thick piece of steel or stone that has been left in the freezer overnight. You just have to work fast because it wont stay cold enough for very long.

This rocket launcher uses flash cotton (gun cotton, nitrocellulose) to simulate the muzzle blast of a real rocket. It is an excellent prop for home movies, or just a great addition to a Halloween costume. Needless to say, it should not be fired indoors or at other living creatures. Flash cotton does not usually cause burns to the skin, but that does not mean it never will. It does produce a real flame so it also should not be used in dry or flammable environments.
Flash cotton can be purchased many places online, or at local magic shops for quite reasonable prices.
The total price of this project was about $35.
