- 4mm Rope (Colours: Linen, Bisque, Vintage Peach, Ecalyptus)
Hey guys! I’m starting a new series focusing on the reverse double half hitch knot. I’ve been receiving a lot of questions about how to use this knot in your work, how to create designs, etc. so I hope you find this series helpful! Cut 2 pieces of 4mm rope in the colours linen, bisque and vintage peach, each piece is 8 ft long. Cut 2 pieces of 4mm rope in the colour eucalyptus, each piece is 6 ft long. Attach the pieces to your work in this order, linen, bisque, vintage peach and eucalyptus.
Tie one row of 8 reverse double half hitch knots using the cord on the left as your working cord and the cord on the right as your filler cord.
Skip the first cord and tie a row of 7 reverse double half hitch knots again using the cord on the left as your working cord and the cord on the right as your filler cord.
Continue this process until you’ve completed the pattern - tying 17 rows total.
I have a few ideas about how you can incorporate this pattern into your work - use it as a centre pattern in your work, repeat it across your work to create a full piece using this pattern or cut it off your dowel and create coasters!
