DIY Macrame Knot Tutorial: Blood Knot! Please see below for materials and written instructions.
Materials:
- 3mm 3 Ply Rope (Colour: Cappuccino and Cinnamon Red)
2mm-6mm Natural and Coloured Cotton String and 3 Ply Rope are available for purchase in my Etsy Shop: etsy.com/ca/shop/LotsofKnotsCanada
Hey guys! Today I am going to show you how to tie the blood knot. This is a fun knot to use to add texture and colour to your piece. Let’s get started.
Cut 2 pieces of rope that are approx. 2 ft in length. Lay them out in an X formation and then adjust so that the bottom of the X is shorter than the top.
Hold the X in your right hand and then wrap the red rope around the cappuccino rope 4 times. After the fourth wrap bring the end of the rope up and in between the two colours on the other side of your work. Pinch the intersection point so that the end of the red cord stays put and you keep the intersection open.
Wrap the cappuccino rope round the red rope 4 times in the opposite direction. Bring the end of the cappuccino rope through the intersection in the opposite direction of the red rope. Pull the ends tight and then cut off the extra rope in the middle.
Thanks for watching!
