Time to add the insulation i talked about earlier and then never did. I'm using a sheet of ceramic wool, sometimes called inswool or kaowool (if you call it kale-wool you misheard it, that wouldn't work, but it sounds edible which is nice). This is a lower temperature insulation than the fire brick, though higher temp versions are available.
