DIY BAILEYS / IRISH CREAM
There are plenty of DIY Baileys’ recipes online but they’re mostly the same and not that great. This one is different. This one is far better IMO.
I stumbled across an old video from 2020 by @ZachZoschke where he shared this recipe. He knows a guy that worked at the company that created Baileys back in the 70s. He acquired this recipe from him so you know it’s in a similar realm. Apparently it had a higher abv back then so this recipe is a touch higher at 21.4% compared to the commercial Baileys which sits at 17%.
WHAT IS THE SHELF LIFE?
Your guess is as good as mine but this contains booze and sugar just like Baileys and that shit lasts a lifetime.
If you (or your Mum) like Irish cream then you HAVE to try this!
2 x 400g cans of sweetened condensed milk
120 ml (2 oz) heavy cream
45 ml (1.5 oz) honey
45 ml (1.5 oz) vanilla extract
12g unsweetened cacao/cocoa powder
2 satchets of instant coffee (4g)
750ml Irish whiskey
Blend until smooth and transfer to a bottle.
Refrigerate and serve.
