In this installment of my cognitive psychology response to Abigail Shrier's "Irreversible Damage," we talk about the first of her "dissidents:" Zucker, and dig a little deeper into the closure of his gender clinic in 2015.
Video comments:
- With regard to the quote around the 20min mark, upon further reflection, given these "dissidents" providing book quotes, it may be reasonable to take that as an endorsement of Shrier's description of their stances.
- A tricky thing with the (particular) therapy ban is it only really applies to licensed mental health practitioners/providers. It does not (typically) apply to religious leaders/members or family attempting similar techniques.
Production misc
- Stacking a denoise filter at the bottom of the color correction stack may have been incorrect... We'll see what you guys say
- New mic, still working out the best placement/processing to get it sounding as it should. I didn't get it right in this video, but we're going to try something different next time
