I did the stay-at-home-girlfriend* thing for a couple years, so I have some thoughts on the current discourse. Specifically, some considerations for current or prospective #SAHGF .

* while married. Yes, it absolutely changes things a bit, but the employment consequences are probably equivalent.

To address potential comments here:
I did get "creative" with my resume, like listing the start-up as taking a year, so I only appeared to have a 2-year gap

The application sites for a lot of jobs I applied to wanted a full educational history. What school, how long, what degree, yada yada. So finessing away my degrees in case that was what was keeping me from getting some jobs was difficult.
