Melody Time (1948) features a segment on the legend of Pecos Bill in which the character smokes throughout. The cigarette was digitally removed and a sequence of him rolling a cigarette on his tongue was cut when the film premiered on VHS in 1998, and the alterations remained on the 2000 DVD release. The European DVD release remained intact, just like the 1987 Japanese LaserDisc. The uncensored and uncut film wasn’t available on video in the US until the 2021 Blu-ray release.
