It is rare in historical archaeology collections to find objects marked with individuals’ names making the small number of named objects in the Hyde Park Barracks collection incredibly special.
By tracing the identities of those named on objects in the collection we can explore the stories of Hyde Park Barracks at a personal level. While not all individuals passed through the Barracks and some identities remain a mystery, they reveal the broader connections of individuals to the Hyde Park Barracks, not just its residents.
