60p camcorders and videos are growing in popularity, especially on Youtube, which recently added support for 60p. The only pitfall of this, however, is that YouTube defaults to 60p when switching over to 720p or 1080p, and a choice to switch back to 30p isn't given. I'm sure I'm not alone with having a computer that is fully capable of watching regular, 30p HD video, but attempting to play HD videos in 60p asks too much of the computer and isn't possible.
YouTube hasn't provided an easy and simple way for those of us in similar situations to revert to 30p playback (in 1080p or 720p modes) on 60p videos. It wouldn't have even been that difficult, as they're still encoding 720p30 and 1080p30 copies of 60p videos for playback on "unsupported" browsers. By spoofing the user agent string of our browser, we're fooling YouTube into believing we're using a version of FireFox that's incapable of supporting and playing 60p HD videos.
