Digimon Story: Time Stranger
Request DLC Story | Part 2: Gaku-Ran
Difficulty: Balanced (Normal)
One story down, two remain. Now begins the second DLC episode, Gaku-Ran.
This is also set in an alternate world where the Shinjuku Inferno had occurred and Parallelmon had grown stronger because of it. This time around, our focus is on a group of digimon wearing Bancho jackets. And also Hiroko Sagisaka and her story in that alternate timeline is messy. To summarize, she blames herself for her version of Inori disappearing and in her grief continued to make videos to let people know. To give people hope in a world devoid of it, awaiting the end. Hell, she even wants to promote an anime based on her experiences. But she's along for the ride in hopes of helping us out, as does BanchoLeomon. Sadly though Omnimon is in a coma, unable to respond.
So now we get to work finding the other Bancho digimon. But much of this is devoted to avoiding Parallelmon. Yes, seriously. As for boss battles, there are plenty. First is BanchoLillymon. She's a Data-type Mega. Just use Viruses with Fire and Metal and you'll be fine. Next is BanchoStingmon. He's a Free-type Mega level. He has no weaknesses so use your strongest moves to take him down. Later on, we take on BanchoGolemon. He's a Virus Mega so bring Vaccines to bring the pain. Afterwards you take on BanchoMamemon. BanchoMamemon is a Data-type Mega. Bring Virus types and you'll do fine.
With all of them beaten, BanchoLeomon wants them to collab so we can take down Parallelmon. He accepts. In a final flashback, Hiroko states that she was excited for her anime to premiere only for the Shinjuku Inferno to happen. All hell broke loose afterwards despite the fact that she wanted to capture everything that happened. But trouble occurs as something happened to Omnimon. He has awoken. Turns out the crystals were what hold him back. Instead, someone else was also being drained. Case in point: Hiroko. So now we got to find these crystals and replace them with hope. It's here you can choose who else to join as your guest. It don't matter which.
So now we must visit each of the rooms and touch the crystals. By doing this, Parallelmon's influence weakens. We also get more backstory for Hiroko and you just feel bad for her. She wants to find her friend and hopefully bring some hope to her world. Once all four crystals are filled with a light, then Parallelmon has nowhere else to run. Omnimon wants to return home. Same for Hiroko, who hopes to provide some info hoping to save her world. It's here that Omnimon undergoes an evolution: to becoming Merciful Mode. Eventually we confront Parallelmon in the Circular Hallway. The boss fight is the same as the previous DLC but with one difference. He summons Tankdramon and Darkdramon. They aren't opponent. Focus on Parallelmon and strike hard and fast. Do that and the fight's over.
Parallelmon's defeated as the Banchos and Omnimon Merciful Mode wail on him. The Akashic backdoor starts to collapse as this timeline is sealed away. Everyone returns back to their respective timelines, including Hiroko who hopes to use what she learned to give her world a chance. This completes Gaku-Ran.
Next part is the last DLC episode, Anti-ParadoX.
