We joined with the Laguna Canyon Foundation to help maintain Lynx. They only allowed me to bring 22 volunteers and I am so stoked that we filled all 22 spots the same night I announced it. I was hoping we could get more people to join so we can fix more trails but they didn't have enough staff to supervise 2 trails. Regardless we were able to clean up Lynx, we cleared and added 10 water bars, fixed a shit ton of brake bumps and built up some much needed berms.
The trails were bone dry so we had to bring a ton of water to the trail. It was a lot of hard work but it made a huge difference. Huge thank you to all the volunteers that came out. Although the Laguna Bike Fest got postponed all the volunteers will still get entry into the Festival. I know there are people who were coming from out of town so we will still be doing a group ride.
The Group Ride will start at 8:30am at the dirt parking lot next to Ganahl Lumber (1765 Laguna Canyon Rd, Laguna Beach, CA 92651). We plan to climb up Stair Steps. For those that want to skip Stair Steps Climb meet on top of Lynx at 9am. The plan is to hit Lynx, 5 Oaks, Rock It & Stair Steps. After the ride we will head to Laguna Bike Shed (859 Laguna Canyon Rd Suite D, Laguna Beach, CA 92651) for hot dogs and drinks. Mother Earth Brewers will be donating 5 cases of their beer that was specially made for the Laguna Bike Fest. Everyone will be getting discount coupons to Crankbrothers and I will also have my jerseys available for 20% OFF.
