Have you ever heard of dryer lint "pearls"? These spherical bits of lint form as tiny bits of lint makes its way inside the dryer's "baffles" (the fins inside the drum that help the clothing tumble as it dries). As the dryer tumbles, the tiny bits of lint tumble around inside the baffles, slowly forming round spheres, or "pearls".
These "pearls" are most commonly found in dryers with clogged venting and/or lint traps. In a normally functioning dryer, the majority of dryer lint is blown out through the lint trap, and anything the lint trap doesn't catch is then blown through the venting to outside. To prevent lint from building up inside of your dryer and becoming a fire hazard, be sure to remove lint from the lint trap before EVERY load of laundry you dry, and clean or replace your dryer venting yearly!
