We were so blown away by the views at Samet Nangshe Viewpoint that we think this could be one of Phuket's most underrated sunrise 🌅 spots!
We recommend booking a private car charter 🚗 ahead of time as it may be difficult to find transport so early in the morning. We booked ours with Alex Taxi Phuket, who took us there and back for a fee of ฿3200 (~S$117.63).
A small maintenance fee of ฿30 per person will be collected at the foot of the hill before taking the short 20min hike up to the viewpoint. Alternatively, those who want to enjoy the views at the top without the hike can opt for a round-trip transfer by a small truck 🛻 for ฿90. While the hike up was manageable, we do suggest taking the truck on the way down due to the steep paths and loose rocks.
The view of the rock formations against the backdrop of the beautiful orange sky was simply breathtaking! We could even see birds 🐦 flying across the egg-yolk sun ☀️ in the distance. So even though this place was slightly further out, It was definitely worth it making the journey.
*Pro-tip: Bring torch lights 🔦, lots of water 💧 and wear proper footwear 👟. It was pitch black before sunrise and we wouldn't have been able to see anything if not for our headlamps!
