The trail heads into the jungle, with warmer temperatures and dense greenery. In Lucmabamba, there’s the option to visit a small coffee farm and learn how beans are grown and roasted. Not far from the village are the Cocalmayo Hot Springs, a great place to rest up after back-to-back hiking days.

The day includes a gradual climb through forested trails to Llactapata, where you get a quiet, distant view of Machu Picchu — a nice preview before reaching the site itself. The atmosphere is calm, and the views across the valley are a highlight.

The final stretch leads to Machu Picchu, one of South America's most iconic landmarks. Exploring the site after several days on foot adds something extra — not just to the view, but to the entire experience.
