This is a clip from a recent episode of the Capture The Magic Podcast where we sit down and talk about something that has honestly been a long time coming at Epic Universe.
Universal just posted two job listings for fireworks technicians specifically at Epic Universe. Not general entertainment roles. Not seasonal positions. Two dedicated pyrotechnics jobs, one for a Lead Technician and one for a Tech II role, both focused on the safe operation, handling, storage, and maintenance of fireworks and pyrotechnic systems across the park's entertainment areas. These are the kinds of specialized roles you hire when you are planning something consistent and nightly, not a one time event.
And here is the thing. This is not coming out of nowhere at all. Universal has been laying the groundwork for this for a while now. A permanent fireworks launch site has already been constructed at Epic Universe, positioned near the central areas of the park in a way that is clearly designed to be seen from multiple vantage points across Celestial Park. That is a significant infrastructure investment and you do not build something like that without a clear plan behind it. On top of that, back in December 2025 Universal quietly filed a trademark application for the name Universal Celestial Goodnight, listing it as entertainment services in the nature of an amusement park show.
Celestial Park is literally the center hub of Epic Universe so the name fits perfectly. And most recently concrete work was completed at the fireworks launch site. Now job listings drop. The pieces are all falling into place.
The conversation we are having is about what this could mean for Epic Universe as a destination and honestly it is a really exciting one. Right now the park is missing that signature ending to the night that makes a theme park feel truly complete. Walt Disney World has Happily Ever After over at Magic Kingdom and it is genuinely one of the best nighttime shows anywhere in the world. A nightly fireworks spectacular at Epic Universe centered around Celestial Park could be an absolutely stunning experience given how beautiful that central hub already is. Universal has a real opportunity here to create something that rivals anything Disney is putting out and we think they know it.
