I'm enjoying Destiny 2 the same way some people used to enjoy the Halo series. You go in, you shoot a few grunts in the face, you feel good. Don't spend too much time in it. I'm hoping to go into it more competitively, but I'm being offput by the lack of balance present in the PC release. Its no one's surprise that Hunter has the short end of the mobility/resilience/recovery stick right now, but I'm also concerned about its shoe-horned-ness into the nightstalker options and lack of a solid grenade.
I expect these things to be fixed, but I'm concerned that every patch isn't going to be a "fun remixing of the meta", but rather a complete clusterfuck jumble of putting classes back together.
1. Gun passives exist that outweigh 4 points of Mobility.
2. Mob/Res/Rec relative importance is a bit laughable with how far rec is pushed out.
3. Entire archetypes of classes shut out of viability.
4. The titan's can basically spec into the mobility of a hunter with less cost.
5. Three hit melee kills for one class, because reasons.
6. Melee headshots in a system that drags your aim and can go over the head
7. Sword vision
8. Aim assist accessible on PC.
If there is a rebalancing patch, I currently expect it to just tip the see-saw the other way. You can't rotate a meta when the meta is everyone shoving themselves into a corner of statistical exploitation. You can have a stable game with a competitive aspect doing that, but the lack of versatility in build would cause stagnation and player falloff. Sad times.
