Hello friends, welcome back to my channel. In today’s video, I’ll design a 6x8 About Last Month scrapbook layout (the November 2024 edition).
Inspiration struck hard + fast when I sat at my computer: I immediately knew I wanted to create a highlight reel. I turned to the image library in Cricut DS, searching for a photo strip. There’s an over abundance of photo/movie reel images; the more I scrolled, the more I was inspired.
This layout is 100% Cricut made- I do not have much in the way of supplies in regards to a movie theme. That’s when Cricut becomes the Robin to the Batman: the indispensable sidekick.
The title mat is an image I put together myself, not one that was created by a *contributing artist. I did this by gathering several icons I liked, arranging and re-sizing them before grouping them together to make a single image. The rest of the design is fairly straight forward: replicating images for embellishing, adding photos to illustrate the story, and words to fill in the gaps.
*I should denote that I am not a Cricut contributing artist, and neither am I endorsed by Cricut. I use my machine and Cricut’s images for my own personal satisfaction (and for documenting purposes). For me, it’s a match made in heaven.
A note about the journaling: I carried the movie reel theme throughout the entire layout, right down to the journaling. I approached my story telling from a third person POV: a movie critic giving their review.
