Derek Prince It’s Not About Speaking in Tongues, Miracles and Healings, Prophecy, Signs & Wonders, or Deliverance. The Power of God is found in the Gospel Message and at the Cross. We must apply the Cross of Jesus Christ in our lives. Derek Prince sermon explains that he has been in charismatic and Pentecostal circles for 50 years and he find them to be some of the most self-centered people alive. I have spent 45 years in these churches as well and many are selfish, immature and self-centered. This Derek Prince sermon starts with Derek Explaining that he thanks God for speaking in tongues but that does not bring the power of God. Derek Prince explains the power of God is not in Miracles and Healings, Prophecy, Signs & Wonders, or Deliverance either. The Power of God only comes through the Cross of Jesus Christ. He makes it clear that we should start and end with the Gospel because that holds the power. Derek says “And nothing else but the Cross applied in our lives can deal with self-love”. The Love of self is what hinders the power of God in our lives. And we must bring that love of self to the cross. Derek Price teaching sums it up so beautifully: “THE CROSS IS THE POWER OF GOD IN OUR LIVES. You can have a form of godliness and speak in tongues. You can believe in miracles and have a form of Godliness. But one thing you cannot have is a form of godliness and Crucifixion of the self. That is the dividing line”. I end that the Charismatic church must return to the gospel and denying ourselves and stop focusing on spiritual gifts and sings and wonders. We need to abandon the NAR and move toward a WORD AND SPIRIT movement.
