"It was okay. It is a very high 'okay' in my opinion. Obviously I can see a ton of blood (heh), sweat, and tears, were put into this mod.
Now I was kind of expecting this mod to last at least an hour or two, I was not expecting the mod to be twice as my estimate. So if you like long Half-Life mods, here ya go!
Speaking of Half-Life, this is pretty much Half-Life but with a different coat of paint. A lot of purple paint to be specific. Now there are some new stuff here and there like weapons, NPCs, and my personal favorite, a re-imagining of Xen. I do like it when Xen gets redesigned in Half-Life mods. The original Xen wasn't good. Sorry.
Now if your upset that I found Delta Particles 'okay', in my defense I have played a few wonderful looking Half-Life mods that sucked in game-play and I played Half-Life mods that looked horrible with amazing game-play. In my opinion, Delta Particles looked pretty with okay game-play.
I did like the new weapons. The wrench, the rail gun, the sniper RIFLE, etc...Now this may sound dark and morbid, but I also liked how enemies heads explode when I nail them in the head. Very satisfying. I REALLY liked the sound design. The pattering of rain hitting against the walls sounded really nice.
This mod also includes subtitles. Which is very unusual for a Goldsrc (Gold Source) mod. The accents for the custom voice work was a little heavy but they were okay.
I did find the 'walking back and fourth to find a key/person on interest to open the door for me' mechanic a teeny bit annoying. You may find it nice but this is my opinion, not yours.
I like how I completely forgot this game had night vision. I have no idea how it looks in game.
So overall, I am going to repeat the first sentence of this review. It was okay."
