After touching down in the French Riviera, we couldn't resist immediately setting out in search of the best via ferrata in the south of France that we could find - the Via Ferrata Baus de La Frema. Or, as locals like to reference, the Death from Above. The Bau de La Frema via ferrata was jam packed with excitement - from climbing cliff walls hanging above La Colmiane in the Alpes Maritimes to balancing along narrow tightropes over 1000FT drops to ascending through a creepy bat cave, this hike truly had it all. We hope this gives you a sense of exactly why we love hiking in France!
For those of you planning to visit the south of France or the French Riviera, there is amazing hiking just 1 to 1.5 hours outside of the major hubs like Cannes and Antibes. We are all about adventure travel and never knew how much incredible hiking there was in this area!
