Hello friends! Happy New Years Eve Eve!! Thanks for visiting my channel today. I hope my layout inspires you!
In this video, I will create a Travellers Notebook size layout that measures 4.5x8.25 inches (not including the gutter). It was designed in Cricut design space and created using my Cricut Explore 3, Cricut pens (and Cricut friendly ones), 6x6 patterned paper from an older Recollections paper pad, and alcohol markers (for colouring). It will go in my December Daily album without a page protector.
On the facing side of this layout, is a set of angel wings that was converted to a draw image, then attached with offset. It was coloured in with a grey triblend marker then attached to a scallop circle, which is adhered to the top of the layout. The bottom is reserved for the journaling- which documents our very own ‘Christmas miracle’ this year. I used my current favourite Cricut font for the journaling: BFC Clementine. I used two other fonts to create the little phrase strip layered over the angel wings.
Since side A of this layout didn’t include photos, I decided to turn side B into an oversize decorative pocket to hold my photos (there’s 4 in total). The photos measure 3x3 inches and were printed using my Epson printer. The top third of this side of the layout features the patterned paper from the 6x6 paper pad mentioned above. The bottom half acts as the pocket. The cardstock that ‘Hark! The herald angels sing’ is glued on three sides, leaving the top open so the photos are easy to pull out. Everything on the lower portion of side B was created with my Cricut. The images were then coloured in with alcohol markers.
Fun fact: The blue ‘patterned paper’ layout base was created with my Cricut, too! Honestly, it is one my most favourite things to do in design space.
One last thing- the colours in this layout are 100% intentional. The colours are symbolic, and represents the connection between my husband and his guardian angels. I generally don’t put too much thought into my colour choices in my DD album- as long as the colours coordinate with whatever paper collection I’m using, I’m happy. This time is different, and I’m pleased with the final outcome!
