Day 47 of my European motorcycle adventure! I set off from the grand Château de Matel in Roanne under blue skies, thinking I was in for an easy ride. The weather man said “the odd shower” – what he meant was “you’ll find them all” 🤦‍♂️.

The scenery heading northwest towards my Ibis Budget in Ancenis was pleasant, but the ride wasn’t exactly action-packed… unless you count dodging rainclouds as an extreme sport! Still, Betsy (my BMW R1250GS) kept ploughing on as I creep ever closer to home.
