What’s a European motorcycle trip without a little chaos? Day 45 kicks off at Hotel Larice Bianco in Bormio, right at the end of the Stelvio Pass. The weather clearly didn’t get the memo—it’s raining. Luckily, the Alps provide plenty of tunnels where I can hide like a soggy mole until the sun finally shows up.
Simon the SatNav, as usual, plays his little “guess the route” game while I try to keep Betsy the BMW R1250GS pointed in the right direction. Supplies are secured from the supermarket (pizza ingredients: optional), and we roll into Saint-Vincent where Betsy tucks up in the garage while I head out for an actual pizza.
