I visited Golm emetery at Swinemünde that was created in 1944 for fallen soldiers of the nearby garrisons and air base. But in March 1945, everything changed. Refugees flooded the town, fleeing the chaos of the Eastern Front. Then, on the 12th, over 600 American bombers unleashed more than a thousand tons of bombs at the request of the Red Army. The town was devastated. Thousands were killed—families, soldiers, refugees. After this reminded of wars destruction I finally head into Poland.
