I bought this interactive cat toy for Dave (the cat) for Christmas.
It has a ball that the cat can be batted around, which he showed no interest in, and a bird on a spring in the center which he loves. He dragged the toy all over the house trying to "get the bird".
I bought it on Amazon for around $10, but I am sure there are similar ones available elsewhere.
