Join Darren Rausch (01MS), the director and health officer of the Greenfield (Wisconsin) Health Department, as he discusses public health's response to COVID-19, the unique challenges at hand, and the strategies being employed.
He also discusses how the pandemic has revealed some of the disparities that exist in communities, what those disparities are, and how public health is attempting to address them. Rausch earned a master's degree in epidemiology at the University of Iowa and is responsible for oversight and management of all public health programs and services within Greenfield.
He is leading efforts to create a unified emergency operations center in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, and is also coordinating an epidemiology intelligence team to collect and analyze data in partnership with professors, staff, and students at the Medical College of Wisconsin and the UW-Milwaukee Zilber School of Public Health.
