While similar to the Hydra found swimming near the waterfall in Darkroot Basin, the Black Hydra has the upper-hand in the form of higher HP. It will also follow and harass Chosen Undead constantly throughout Ash Lake, leaping over the shore to chase after and pelt him with water projectiles. It will literally fly over the lake in pursuit of its prey. Its harrowing presence is the primary theme of Ash Lake, along with another mysterious dragon. It is identical in appearance to its cousin in Darkroot Basin, except for being a menacing black colour. Slaying the Black Hydra nets two Dragon Scales and 10000 souls.
