D Minor Sad Metal Backing Tracking for guitar soloing. This is a deep dark metal ballad. It's melodic yet sad, slow yet uptempo. The outlaws of minor metal blues meet the badlands of guitar backing tracks. This whole track is in the key of Dm.

I recorded this backing track last early last week. It was getting late, daylight was just starting to glow from the horizon. I was due to fly out the next day for the holiday season, and I knew I had to finish a small collection of backing tracks to release while I was away.
All I had was my acoustic guitar for inspiration. I was tuned a step down. I started off with something in D minor, some easy-going melodic ballad - but then, I released the minor chord, and hammered back on. I got the C to D minor drive. It met the badass time of the darkness, the late night inspiration by low candle light and the threat of morning as it gently flowed into my studio. This track was born.
Maybe a little heavy for a ballad? Probably not heavy enough for a modern metal track? Who knows. Enjoy it for what it is, this is the badlands of Guitar Backing Tracks, the wild west of guitar improvisation!

Pretty straight forward, Dm - Gm - Dmaj - Fmaj - Dm
Play over the scale of D Minor for the whole thing, unless you want to experiment!
This track was recorded with a Tanglewood Acoustic, recorded with a Rode NT1-A microphone into a ART TPS Tube Pre. The guitar sounds were a clean w/ FX through a Cornford amp hard left and right, with a Soldano distortion hard left and right.
