Katelyn Goble’s defense delivered opening statements in her murder trial, arguing that the victim, Morgan Bauer, was found because Goble reached out to police. The defense claimed that Goble, who was a teen at the time of Bauer’s murder, was scared of the only person she knew — her boyfriend, Jonathan Warren, who manipulated her to help kill, dismember and put Bauer’s remains in a suitcase and setting it on fire in the backyard. Warren pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
