The 1910 or new 840 don't have to replace your Red Ryder, but they are a great addition for these reasons:
(1) Long 18 inch barrel
(2) 880 style trigger
(3) One and two equal better accuracy and energy retention down range. Though the same power level, the 1910 pulls away from Ryder at 15 to 20 yards. Light pellets like wadcutters and hollow points take this youth rifle to a higher level.
