This week I’m focusing on drawing women and female characters from real photo references. Rather than copying the photos, I’m breaking each figure down into simple shapes and forms to better understand anatomy, proportions, movement, clothing, and gesture.
These studies help me learn how to construct believable child characters from imagination by understanding how real people are built and how clothing sits on the body. Each sketch is an exercise in observation, construction, and character development.
