Night Corp is a unique corporation that is solely focused on Night City and its affairs. The company is the largest contractor of public services within the boundaries of the city. Building and renovating facilities, roads, bridges, tunnels, metro lines, power plants, and the lists goes-on.
The corporation is also known for their charities designed to aid the city’s poorest children, and scholarship programs to benefit gifted young people.
Night Corp is also heavily invested in research for ecology and alternate power sources.
I personally don’t buy this whole saint corpo story. No one in Night City is that good. Also, the main signature of CDPR stories from witcher 3 is that nothing is what it looks like. My bet is that Night Corp is conducting some shady business with the ppl they claim to be helping. Maybe some illegal human experimentation or even worse. I am positive that we will uncover some dirt during sidequests throughout the game.

As for its history, the company was created as Night’s Foundation by Miriam Night, wife of deceased multi billionaire Richard Night, the man who designed the whole City. By the way, if you don't know who that is, and his backstory, I have a whole playlist explaining night City history and all its districts, and it is linked on this video description.

In a nutshell, he was killed by the local mob after they got excluded from the building project of Night City.

In the first years after Ricahrd was killed, the foundation attempted to gain megacorporate support to end the reign of crime in Night City. After the end of the Mob Wars (more like massacre), Night’s foundation was restructured and renamed Night Corp. Allegedly, Mirian realized that to have any power in Night City, you have to play by the rules of big business.
From that time the corporation has been a constant presence in the city, expanding their field of activity but avoiding power struggles with other major corps.

Night Corp’s secretive policies have become the subject of tremendous speculation over the years. They supposedly own their own satellites and rumours also tell of their underwater works in the Coronado Bay, manipulation of elections, and owning shares in the orbital station projects. As a public contracting company, Night Corp has a very tight security, and it seems that none of the other corporations want to mess with them.
