CV9030
The Combat Vehicle 90 (CV90; Sw. Stridsfordon 90, Strf90) is a family of Swedish tracked combat vehicles designed by Sweden's Defense Materiel Administration (Försvarets Materielverk, FMV), Hägglunds and Bofors during the mid-1980s and early 1990s and entered service in Sweden in the mid-90s. The CV90 platform design has continuously evolved in steps from Mk0 to current MkIV with advances in technology and in response to changing battlefield requirements. The Swedish version of the main infantry fighting vehicle is fitted with a turret from Bofors that is equipped with a 40 mm Bofors autocannon.
Export versions are fitted with Hägglunds E-series turrets, armed with either a 30 mm or a 35 mm Bushmaster autocannon. Developed specifically for the Nordic sub-arctic climate, the vehicle has very good mobility in snow and wetlands while carrying and supporting six to eight fully equipped dismount soldiers. Other variants include Forward Observation, Command and control, anti-aircraft, armoured recovery vehicle, electronic warfare and so forth.
Currently, 1,280 vehicles in 15 variants are in service with seven user nations, four of which are NATO members, under BAE Systems Hägglunds AB
Use in Fnland
In November 2000, Finland ordered 57 CV9030 vehicles. Total cost was €250 million (2008 value), or €4.42 million per vehicle. In June 2004, Finland made another purchase, bringing the overall quantity ordered to 102.[17] This time, the cost was €2.92 million (2008 value) per vehicle.
The CV90 Mk II was produced in three variants, CV9030 CH (Switzerland) IFV & COM, and CV9030 FIN (Finland) IFV. Both contracts were won in competition with other IFVs. The difference between the two variants is mainly the size of the hull. The Swiss variant is 100 mm higher over the front part of the hull and an additional 70 mm over the combat compartment at the rear. The principal difference between the Mk I and Mk II is that the Mk II was partly digitized and provided with built-in Health & Unit Monitoring System (HUMS) together with interactive manuals and instructions. CV90 Mk II standard armament is Mk44 Bushmaster II autocannon.
Service personnel and conscripts from the Armoured Brigade, Karelia Brigade, Utti Jaeger Regiment, Jaeger Brigade, Pori Brigade, Army Academy, the Defence Forces C5 Agency and the 2nd Logistics Regiment will participate in the exercise. The exercise will involve Army flight operations. Allied troops from the United Kingdom, Latvia and Estonia will also take part in the exercise. The share of international troops of the total strength will be about 300 persons. The exercise will be commanded by the Commander of the Armoured Brigade Colonel Juhana Skyttä.
The aim of the exercise is to strengthen mechanized troops’ cooperation and interoperability with allied troops, and enhance the ability to receive international assistance and provide host nation support. Another objective is to develop the Defence Forces’ joint fires.
–Army mechanized exercises will provide training for mechanized troops and have them rehearse operations. These exercises will involve conscripts and personnel both on the individual and force level. The participation of the Allies will enhance interoperability between troops consisting of different nationalities and create an international operating environment for the exercise. At the same time, the exercise will serve as the most important live-fire exercise of the Finnish conscripts taking part in it, Colonel Skyttä says.
In the exercise, the mechanized troops will train battle group offensive and delaying operations in particular. Operating requires the different branches to cooperate seamlessly.

The Finnish VR Class Tk3 (original classification K5) was a 2-8-0 light freight locomotive. They were numbered 800–899, 1100–1118, and 1129–1170.

They were designed for a low axle load of just 10.7 tonnes (10.5 long tons; 11.8 short tons). This allowed them to operate on lightly laid secondary lines, but during their many years of service, up to the end of the steam era, they were also widely used on main lines hauling slow passenger trains that made frequent stops.
They were affectionately called Pikku-Jumbo (The Little Jumbo) because of their good performance despite their low weight. They had a low fuel consumption (usually Tk3s used birch wood) and good riding characteristics. They also had good steaming characteristics and were very popular among locomotive crews.
The livery of Tk3 was the same as other VR steam locomotives: dark locomotive green with a black smokebox. When new some locos were lined with thin gold decoration. The gold decorations were not repainted during maintenance, so they were seldom seen.
Two Tk3-type engines were originally supplied by Tampella to Rauma Rautatie as Nos. 9 and 10 (ex-No. 8) in 1935 and 1927 respectively. These engines became Tk3 1117 and 1118 after the private railway was absorbed by the State network in 1950.[1]
