WHAAAATT!!! Use a carbide tooth blade IN A CHOP SAW for cutting steel?! Absolutely! Very fast, very accurate results are possible by using a 'dry cut' saw like the one I use to cut 4" x 1/4" steel plate and other smaller profile pieces in this video. Clear focus, PPE and confidence are required to use this type of saw safely but by paying attention to potential dangers it's entirely possible... kind of like driving in rush hour traffic!
This video shows how I use a Milwaukee Dry Cut Machine to cut the various pieces I need to weld together to make a sturdy track for allowing a bank of 'floating cabinets' to roll horizontally effortlessly. Not something you see everyday... which is why I call it 'extreme cabinetry' and why I enjoy the challenge of creating such unique shelving units for demanding clients who appreciate the end product.
