I knew right when I heard this that if I were going to cover it, I had to go in a Babymetal direction since doing traditional metal vocals would have really felt off. I did extensive research into different vocaloid and Vsynth patches to find something that sounded close to Babymetal and I was absolutely blown away by Natsuki Karin. Not only was it exactly what I was going for, as someone who's never gotten to play with Vsynth or vocaloid before, I was insanely impressed at how real it sounded. I ended up actually having to leave a lot of things that sounded synthesized in, instead of trying to smooth it out. That way it kept the Hatsune Miku vibe without sounding too real. It's incredible how advanced that technology is.

For the video, I knew pretty early on that my best bet to showcase the vocals was to somehow film either a Natsuki model or Pink model in VRChat. I went deep into the rabbithole of VRChat worlds that showcased an Idol Stage and models of Pink and was elated to find the ones I went with. The model is incredibly well done and is by Dani17dev. Thank you so much for making that available to use! The world was by LucksShi and had the absolute perfect lighting and glowstick animations that matched the song perfectly, along with the ability to play the boss fight in the back. I was so lucky to be able to choose from such talented work by these communities.

I had no idea how I would tackle this one when I initially heard it. I knew the melody would be pretty straightforward and upon playing it, I realized it would actually be tougher since I wanted to make sure I got all of the pitch bending and fun articulations. Then when I started figuring out the backing guitars, I was thown off by how heavy it was sounding and I felt like it might not fit the cutesie vibe. I opted to just lay it down and hope that it all came together well and luckily, it really did.
