This year is the 10th anniversery of my Top 10 Medleys where I did a short version of this one. I've been wanting to do a full cover of it since then and I randomly started getting a bunch of shorts of people playing it on various instruments so it got stuck in my head again. It was also good timing because I just attended Momocon last weekend where I did a guitar clinic/panel/performance where I wanted to show off some really difficult stuff so I thought it'd be a good time to tackle this again so I could perform it.

I found that the intro arpeggio was about as difficult to pull off as I expected. I don't do well with having to split my focus on two different moving tapping targets but couldn't really find an easier way to play it, but I think we got there. The biggest hurdle was getting the low G in the run which I actually used the fret wrap at a specific location that caused a muted harmonic of the low G when I pulled off the E string. Not a super resonant way to get the note, but at this speed I think it works.

The real challenge was the run in the middle right before the dissonant section, there's multiple different ways it can be played and I found it different depending on the octave which method would be easiest. In the middle of the neck using a pull off method seemed to be cleaner, where as a sweep in the upper register seemed to work best for me. I'm sure everyone would tackle these little challenges differently based on what techniques they're better or worse at.

I'm doing my best to only focus on making these when I feel excited to so for now, I don't have an exact schedule, but I'm hoping to make more in the coming months. Thanks so much for your patience!
