Erosion of culvert outlets can undermine the culvert structure and lead to environmental damage downstream. One way to reduce the erosion potential of your culvert outlet is to design a scour control measure at the outlet. In this FLOW-3D HYDRO example, a few different scour control designs are tested at the same culvert outlet using the sediment transport physics to visualize the erosion. In the second part of the video, there are models comparing the "no protection" scenario against different combinations of baffle blocks and a rock apron. CFD modeling can help you optimize your culvert design and minimize the erosion risks. Learn more at flow3d.com/hydro
