Humphrey Wittingtonsworth IV | Cubicle Labs Chemistry Lesson #5: Lubicle ONE, Azeotropic Siloxane Ethers with Teflon @HumphreyWittingtonsworthIV | Uploaded April 2017 | Updated October 2024, 21 hours ago.
WARNING: I use lots of chemistry words.
Basically if you make an azeotrope with cyclic siloxane ethers, you can prevent them from evaporating and create absurdly low viscosity silicone oil. This is because of the molecular shape in combination with the low molecular weight.
How absurd? If Traxxas 30k is 30,000 centistokes, this lube would be equivalent to Traxxas 0.001k. THIRTY THOUSAND times less viscose as Traxxas.
If DNM-37 was the fastest water based lube I could make, Lubicle ONE is the fastest silicone based lube I could make.
By combining the extremely low viscosity with the low coefficient of friction of teflon, you can create an absurdly fast lubricant.
We just have a few more things to work out, and order in bulk, but hopefully people will like it!
