This video doesn’t start at the very beginning of the project. I applied the cast-on bonnet, knitted pink waste yarn. Then with the intention of making this project a double ended bonnet, I switched to yellow reinforced fiber and worked maybe 10 rows, did the picot/split-ring application, did another 10 rows then hung the hem. The video starts with the next fiber, the sock yarn, which is a thinner material and because the reinforced was thicker the initial row as mentioned has more tension than usual.
On this project I prefer to not do a slip stitch edge on the hung hem, just on the main body of the piece, so the initial first stitch was a work in progress in this video to ensure it was built correctly. We can choose to do the slip stitch edge to make a nicer edge.
