A loud, clear earphone from easily available parts that cost less than half a dollar! It can be build without any specialized tools. Today we will build a crystal radio earphone using only cheap, common parts; no 3D printing required! This simple DIY project uses a small plastic funnel, a rubber ear tip from common earbuds, a 27mm piezoelectric emitter, and some basic wiring to create a clear and low-cost earphone for crystal radios. We walk through every step: drilling for strain relief, trimming the funnel tip for comfort, soldering the piezo element, and gluing it all together. The result? A comfortable, high-performing earphone that costs less than $1 to make, delivers better low-frequency response than most store-bought crystal radio earpieces, and is perfect for DIY electronics, vintage radio builds, or off-grid listening projects. Whether you’re a radio hobbyist, a maker, or just curious about low-tech audio solutions, this project proves you don’t need expensive gear to get great results.
