![[RELEASE] Ikemen GO MUGEN for PlayStation Classic
Autobleem: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bEGjfUgbdcbdBcrrF-aogEKq4fxDmUpw/view?usp=sharing
Project Eris: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bhSu0vzUu-O24rJfIeLtWR9voZIofN92/view?usp=sharing
For Autobleem copy the ikemengo folder to usb:/Apps
For Project Eris, copy the ikemengo folder to usb:/project_eris/etc/project_eris/SUP/launchers
How to use:
ls = list the contents of the directory
cd = change directory. for example, cd foldername
cd .. = goes up one directory
exit = exit terminal
reset button = quit game
Example:
cd 000/street_fighter_one (go in sample game folder)
Ikemen_Go_PSC = Launches the game
Note you dont have to type the full name, hit the Tab key to autofill the rest. You can also press the up arrow to go back your history.
The sample game above works as a standalone launcher too, you can copy or move it to the Apps folder and itll show up in the menu. To create your own custom launcher, copy your mugen or ikemengo game to the USB Apps folder (or launchers if you on Eris), then copy the contents inside ikemengo/zzzz/template and paste it in your game folder. Now it should show up in the menu.
Itll display as Fighting Game. You can edit app.ini (Autobleem) or launcher.cfg (project eris) to change the Game title and Game.png. If you need to edit the launch script, edit run.sh for Autobleem or launch.sh for Project Eris.
Ikemen GO is a open source fighting game engine that supports M.U.G.E.N.. This particular build is based on v0.99.0. However, the fork that I compiled has a compatibility mode which works on older builds of Ikemen GO namely v0.98.2 and above. Its not perfect but its pretty good.
Shout out to leonkasovan for implementing this feature. Hes also the one who made a SDL2 version of Ikemen GO which made it possible for me to compile it for the PSC. You can visit his github here: https://github.com/leonkasovan/Ikemen-GO
he doesnt have a PSC so keep that in mind if you post issues. With that being said, it actually has better support for old Mugen games than it does Ikemen GO. the PSC only has 1gb of Ram, so some games that require more RAM may crash or not start at all.
I dont recommend playing res higher than 480p. From my testing, 240p can run at 60fps while 360p and 480p looks better but has frame drops.
If your game is intended for widescreen, I suggest setting the resolution to 1280x720 in the options, then forcing it to 240p when you launch. For example:
Ikemen_Go_PSC -width 426 -height 240
This will keep the aspect ratio widescreen while forcing it to 240p. You can also try other resolutions but I find that 426x240 and 640x360 looks pretty good for widescreen. Changing the internal resolution to 720x480 can improve performance a bit too.
Ive included multiple builds that you can experiment with. Heres a breakdown:
Ikemen_Go_PSC = default. maintains aspect ratio
Ikemen_Go_PSC-stretch = stretches the screen to fit your screen
Ikemen_Go_PSC-bilinear = uses bilinear filtering instead of nearest neighbor
Ikemen_Go_PSC-compat = increase compatibility for some games, its slower though. Only try this if the above dont work
If youre familiar with developing Mugen games you can modify games to make it more optimized for the psc such as changing the screenpacks to a lower resolution.
For some mugen games you may need to edit the config.json file to set the motif path. search for motif in the config.json file and youll notice at default its set to data/system.def. Some games have a different path, you can find it in the mugen.cfg file. If its not data/system.def its usually data/mugen1/system.def.
Another common error is when it complains about the font arial.ttf missing. It comes with windows but Ive included it in the zzzz folder. You can copy it to your games font folder.

the psc controller works but i notice when trying to change the controls in-game, the dpad doesnt register. you may have to config the controls inside the config.json. Heres the settings i use

Thats the standard controller scheme used in all Capcom PS1 games. You can also try using a different controller, my Hori PS4 pad works. the select button is the menu [RELEASE] Ikemen GO MUGEN for PlayStation Classic](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/fL9RChXNWdM/mqdefault.jpg)
