Cronos: The New Dawn reviewed well at launch, but I don't think its average score of 77 really reflects how good it is. Common criticisms included the combat, difficulty spikes, an underwhelming narrative, and comparisons to the games that inspired it. Honestly, I don't disagree with most of those observations but I don't necessarily see them as flaws. I thoroughly enjoyed my recent playthrough and, while it won't click with everyone, I think it's a fantastic survival horror game that's well worth your time.

So in this re-review, I want to talk about three things: why I think it's better than its review scores suggest, how it's changed since launch, and why it's worth a look if you've been sitting on the fence.
