This challenging swim drill will help you become a more confident and consistent swimmer, as well as increase your speed! You only need one paddle and one fin to improve your underwater pull-through. Watch Swim Smooth's founder, Coach Paul Newsome, demonstrate the Cris-Cros drill.

In this drill, you swim freestyle with a paddle in one hand and a fin on the opposite-side foot. As the paddle enters the water, kick down with the fin. Building on the "Unco" drill in Ep.14 of this series, Coach Paul explains how to try this drill works if you're a four- or six-beat kicker.

Note: beginning around the 2:47 mark, the water distorts the proportional size of the Endless Pools Fastlane® swim-current generator. The Fastlane unit measures just 34" tall, 18" deep, and 29" wide.
