In this video, I demonstrate how cracking paraffin oil yields flammable gases and liquids. I use bromine water—which I produced in a homemade electrolysis cell—as evidence of the presence of alkenes. Spoiler: the heating jacket had a major malfunction. Fortunately, though, it didn’t happen until after the experiment.
