In 1974, Brady established the World Championship Barbecue Goat Cook-off. Around two years later, Waxahachie started its own annual goat-themed celebration: the Cow Creek Championship Cabrito Cook-off. Beyond cooking and eating goat meat, the day-long festival also featured a variety of competitive events. In this 1976 news segment for KDFW-TV, reporter Jim Ruddy documents contests in cow chip tossing, goat pill flipping, tobacco spitting, and goat hollering. The Waxahachie cook-off ended in 1979, but the Brady bash still runs every Labor Day weekend.
