This couple, who didn't want to raise a puppy so decided to adopt an older dog, were left shocked when they discovered the dog was in fact pregnant and recently gave birth to a paw-some litter of pups. Vicki Collis, 32, adopted Amber the six-year-old beagle with her husband as they wanted an older dog, however, the pair got more than they bargained for when they found out that Amber was expecting puppies. Vicki said: "We were shocked and scared when we found out that she was pregnant. We’ve always had older dogs and never had a puppy, let alone a litter of four. "We got her from her owner just after she’d been in season and was advised to wait 12 weeks for spaying due to health risks, complications and the chance of a false pregnancy."
