The caretakers of 4-year-old Vanessa Hart were charged on Monday in the girl's death. Investigators believe Vanessa was systematically beaten and abused over several months which led to her death.
On the day of Vanessa's burial, her father Clinton Hart and his pregnant girlfriend Marina Navarro were finally charged after a week behind bars.
Vanessa's father is facing several child abuse charges along with first degree murder. Marina Navarro, the woman who allegedly beat Vanessa, is charged with aggravated murder, and three counts of child abuse.
The couple could both face the death penalty, no word on when they will be in court.
