The Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office announced on Monday, September 12th, 2010, that formal charges have now been filed against a man accused of kidnapping and sexually molesting a child last week at a Deseret Industries store in Sandy. Richard Chad Randall is facing four first degree felonies including kidnapping, rape of a child, sodomy upon a child and aggravated sexual assault.
Two of those charges carry a 25-years-to-life sentence.Randall is a convicted sex offender who completed his probation before allegedly committing the crime. The alleged incident happened Sept. 7 in Sandy at a Deseret Industries thrift store.
