I'm going through the top 20 Favorite Video Game Songs of all time as voted on by my community. This came in at number 10!

Back in the early days of my channel, I recieved a lot of requests for this one and so many in fact that I had to go back and actually really play the game since I had only played it briefly before beginning my channel. It was also the start of my college days where I was studying classical guitar and it became a bit of a meme that I couldn't afford a capo because I used a gameboy advance cartridge that I tied onto my fretboard with shoelace. Thankfully I can afford a capo now, but of course I didn't end up needing it for this arrangement. Otherwise I totally would have done it again for the joke.

As I've been doing with the previous covers, this one I really focused more on capturing the original feel than trying to shoehorn a metal arrangement. Halfway through arranging it, I found myself wanting to do the same thing I did in the Stickerbush Symphony cover of building it slow to a drop and then going wild with it. A part of me felt cheap for doing it again, but I really felt that the song called for it so I just went with my gut.

This cover really came together in the post-production process though, I found this incredible pad sample that I thought fit so well that it ended up being a prominent part of the mix. It was in the perfect key and when it wasn't on the right chord, somehow it twisted the chords into something really interesting. In the beginning, every mix I did of this felt horrendous and it took an extra long time to get it right. The whole reason all of these covers have been filmed in the studio is so I can spend more time on the audio and less time on the video.

After a really tough production on this, I'm really happy with how it turned out and I hope you enjoy it.
